The Incorporation of CTM in Traumatic Foot and Ankle Foot and Ankle Procedures.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Watson to this week's CTM Talks: Case Series presentation.

In this month’s presentation, Dr. Watson will cover techniques, tips, and tricks involving surgical procedures of the foot and ankle and demonstrate the importance of biologic augmentation of damaged tissue using placental connective tissue matrix from CTM in these procedures.

Some case examples include Calcaneal Fractures, Pilon Fractures (using an anterior incisional approach), Bilateral Forefoot Gangrene, and Compartment Syndrome with a 1st Metatarsal Fracture crush injury.


John A. Watson, DPM received his podiatry degree from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at Jefferson Health. He is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Mark A. Ciaglia, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained hand and microsurgeon. Dr. Ciaglia studied biology and chemistry at Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating with honors. He was accepted to Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

 

After he completed medical school, Dr. Ciaglia moved to New York City, where he spent five years training in general and trauma surgery in Brooklyn. He made the decision to specialize in hand surgery and applied to the single hand surgery and microsurgical fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Beth Israel in Manhattan.

Here, he trained under world-renowned hand surgeon Dr. Charles Melone. During his training, Dr. Ciaglia perfected hand surgery and gained recognition as he spoke at state and national meetings about hand surgery.

Damion M. Harris, MD is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is also a recent inductee into ASES (American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons). Dr. Harris received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University, his MD from Indiana University’s School of Medicine, and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Southern Illinois School of Medicine, Carbondale.
